How to Use the Shift Differential Calculator
Step 1: Enter Employee Pay Details
Input the employee’s hourly rate, standard weekly hours, and overtime hours. If overtime applies, enter the overtime multiplier (e.g., 50% for time-and-a-half).
Step 2: Add Shift Differentials (if applicable)
For employees working different shifts, enter additional shift differential percentages and the number of hours worked under each differential. This allows for accurate pay adjustments.
Step 3: Select Pay Period & Currency
Choose the applicable pay period (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) and select the currency. The calculator will adjust the total pay based on the selection.
Step 4: Click ‘Calculate’
Once all details are entered, click the “Calculate” button. The calculator will instantly compute regular pay, differential pay, overtime pay, and total pay, displaying a detailed breakdown.
Step 5: Review & Use the Results
The results section provides a clear breakdown of total earnings, including base pay, shift differentials, and overtime compensation. Use this information to ensure accurate payroll processing.
