User-friendly learning management system with offline capabilities but limited built-in training courses.
Verdict: 8.2/10
iSpring Learn is a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) that enables you to create, deliver, manage, and track employee training. You can upload courses, assign them to learners, view results, and generate completion certifications—all from a single platform.
One thing I loved about iSpring Learn was its clean, modern, and intuitive interface, which I think is well-suited to less tech-savvy admins and learners. That said, the platform offers only 46 ready courses, so companies with complex or highly-regulated training needs may need to import or build training materials from scratch.
Additionally, the pricing plans were confusing. While large businesses with more than 300 users can benefit from lower per-user costs, iSpring Learn’s per-user fee can be costly for small to medium-sized businesses.
Key Features:
- Content authoring. Use the built-in iSpring Suite authoring tool to create customizable interactive courses, quizzes, and more.
- Course library. Access 7 standard and 39 premium prebuilt courses on a wide range of topics—from compliance and cybersecurity to sales and leadership.
- Content management. Upload, import, and organize presentations, video tutorials, SCORM courses, and long-form content, and keep historical training materials and stats intact.
- Course assignment. Assign courses to users manually or automatically, or let them self-assign courses from a curated catalog.
- Roll out tools. Distribute courses straight to users’ smartphones, schedule online sessions through MS Teams and Zoom, and let employees view their training schedules in a calendar format.
- Reporting. View detailed reports on learners’ progress, quiz results, and content engagement to refine your offering.
- Performance and development. Use iSpring Learn to create and roll out 360-degree feedback surveys, build onboarding checklists, and create skills development plans for employees.
Pros
- Supports offline learning
- User-friendly and modern design
- Responsive customer support
Cons
- Limited built-in courses
- Confusing pricing tiers
- No MacBook desktop app for iSpring Suite
iSpring Learn Pricing
iSpring Learn offers 2 pricing plans:
Plan | 50 users | 100 users | 300 users | 500 users | 1,000 users |
StartTraining ManagementContent Management for up to 50 GB storage and 5 projectsContent AuthoringTraining AnalyticsMobile learningTechnical Support | $6.70/user/month | $5.77/user/month | $3.70/user/month | Contact vendor | Contact vendor |
BusinessEverything in Start, plus:Unlimited storage360-Degree FeedbackDevelopment PlansAPIScheduled reportingCustom roles and permissions | Contact vendor | Contact vendor | $4.10/user/month | $3.75/user/month | $2.94/user/month |
I found the platform’s pricing plans very confusing and unnecessarily complex. The plans list prices for a fixed number of users rather than a range. For instance, you know what the Start plan costs for 50 and 100 users, but if you want the cost for 25 or 75 users, you must contact customer service.
To ensure I understood this correctly, I reached out to the support team. They confirmed this and “strongly encouraged” that I request a custom quote, as the numbers on the website are just for reference (which I think is misleading).
iSpring Learn seems to have reduced per-user costs for larger businesses, but costs are pricier for small to medium-sized businesses. Let’s look at what other competitors cost.

The big positive for me? iSpring Learn offers a 30-day free trial, which is longer than most other platforms’ trials. That said, I wish there were a free plan for small businesses—like the one offered by Connecteam.

iSpring Learn Usability and Interface
Signing up for iSpring Learn LMS’s free trial was straightforward. I submitted my contact details, number of learners, industry, and preferred mode of contact—and could instantly access my very own iSpring Learn portal.
iSpring Learn opens to its user portal by default—even for admins. I found the overall design and interface of the portal very appealing. It has a simple white and black color theme with pops of the same green from its logo to highlight important elements. The font is easy to read and spaced out, which I prefer over cluttered interfaces.
The best part was that when I first logged into iSpring, I’d already been assigned 3 training courses about how to use the platform. I thought this was so clever—it was a fun way to experience the LMS as a new user.
Finding my way around the user portal was easy. It lists key features—including “My Courses,” “My Trainings,” “Catalog,” “Knowledge Base,” and “Assignments”—neatly in the middle of the top bar. Meanwhile, the right end of the top bar lets you send messages, view notifications, and access your user profile. From your user profile, you can personalize your portal or switch to the admin portal.

At first, I thought having different admin and user portals would be confusing, but I ended up really appreciating the separation, as it made the platform feel less overwhelming to use. I also liked the ability to switch between being an admin and learner.
The admin portal was also easy to navigate. It opened into a dashboard with key stats, such as total courses and users, ungraded assignments, catalog requests, and more, ensuring admins don’t miss critical items that need their attention. Other features, such as “Learning Content,” “Trainings,” “Reports,” “Users,” and more, were displayed in the left sidebar.

Finally, I really appreciated that iSpring Learn’s built-in authoring tool lets you create courses accessible for users with visual impairments, with features like high contrast between text and other elements, minimalistic layouts, and screen-reader compatibility.
My main complaints? The platform automatically logged me out after about 20 minutes of inactivity, which I found unnecessary. Also, the sales support chat box popped up every 10-15 minutes asking if I needed assistance. I understand the intention, but it felt disruptive.
Verdict: 9/10
Mobile app
iSpring Learn has a mobile app for iOS and Android users. Its authoring tool—iSpring Suite—has a desktop app, too, but only for Windows. The process of downloading it on a MacBook was very complicated, which I found disappointing.
Signing into the iOS app wasn’t straightforward. Unlike the web portal, which asked only for my email address and password, the mobile app required a separate URL (which was sent in my welcome email) and then asked me to log in with my credentials.
The mobile app had a similar white and black color theme, clean and modern design, and readable font as the web portal. But it also switches between light or dark mode depending on your phone’s settings, which I thought was cool.
I love that the mobile app lets users take their courses offline, without an internet connection, which is a great way to enable learners to complete training from anywhere—from work sites to airplanes.
In terms of the layout, key learning features were listed neatly in the bottom bar. But I found it strange that some features were named differently in iSpring Learn’s mobile vs. web versions. For example, “Notifications” was called “News” in the mobile app, while “My Trainings” is called “Events,” which I thought was confusing.
Let’s look at how the mobile app’s features compare with the web portal.

While iSpring Learn’s mobile app provides features for learning, it doesn’t offer admin tools—for instance, tools for creating, assigning, and managing content. I found this disappointing. While I understand that creating courses on a phone isn’t easy, I would’ve liked the ability to at least view reports and my admin dashboard. Overall, the mobile app didn’t impress me as much as the web portal did.

iSpring Learn Core Functionalities
Here are iSpring Learn’s key features and functionalities.
Content creation and management
iSpring Learn offers several options for adding courses to your company’s course library. You can upload a range of materials, including PowerPoint presentations, SCORM courses, training videos and audio files, PDF guides, and more.
Additionally, iSpring Learn also offers a library of ready training courses on a range of topics, such as compliance, cybersecurity, prevention of sexual harassment, sales, and more. However, the library is limited—it offers just 7 standard and 39 premium courses. Moreover, it’s unclear to me if the premium courses cost extra—they seem to be included in the free trial.
For those looking to build their own training content within the LMS, iSpring Learn has 2 options.
The admin portal includes a basic course editor, which lets you create learning modules from scratch. You can:
- Add text.
- Insert images (including a cover image), videos, and audio files.
- Use tables, columns, and links.
- Upload entire documents or PDFs into the modules.
The best part? You can embed quizzes within courses with multiple-choice, short text, sequence, and matching questions. But answers can be in text form only. For instance, I couldn’t add image 1, image 2, and image 3 as answer choices, which I can do with apps like Connecteam.
Each module can be divided into sections, and you can also require learners to complete sections in a specific sequence or allow them to navigate modules freely.

My main complaint with the content builder was that I couldn’t add images and videos directly into a module without creating a “page” (like a sub-module) to add them into first. As a result, I couldn’t see embedded images, videos, etc. while drafting content without clicking “Preview.”
In addition to the basic course editor, iSpring Learn includes iSpring Suite: a more advanced authoring tool available only through the Windows desktop app. While there are workarounds to download the Windows app for Mac, the process is complex. Ultimately, I was hugely disappointed not to see a Mac desktop app.
That said, iSpring suite integrates with Microsoft PowerPoint to enable you to create interactive courses and simulations from a familiar interface, so you don’t need to be an expert. Once your course is ready, it’s automatically added to your LMS.
Verdict: 7.5/10
Course assignment and live virtual training
Once training modules are ready, you can assign courses or learning tracks (groups of courses—for instance, all onboarding courses) manually using the enrollment tab within each course. Choose employees by name or assign courses in bulk to specific teams, job titles, locations, and more—and set due dates.
Another great feature? iSpring Learn automates assigning training to specific employees or groups, which is great for recurring needs. For instance, you could set it up to auto-assign onboarding courses to every new hire, ensuring no one misses out while reducing your administrative burden.

Furthermore, you can add specific training materials to an open catalog that learners can browse and learn from voluntarily. Once employees complete courses, they’re issued the certificates you selected while building the courses.
Finally, you can also schedule offline training events and even host live online events, such as webinars or online workshops, using video conferencing integrations. Learners can see upcoming sessions on their training calendars, and the platform also sends them event updates, reminders, and scheduling changes via notifications.

Verdict: 10/10
Knowledge base
iSpring Learn’s knowledge base lets you organize and share internal company information and training documents. You can upload how-to guides, articles, company handbooks, policies, and other critical files.
Additionally, you can write documents from scratch using the built-in content editor. While you can adjust fonts and colors in an article, you can’t add images to it, which is problematic for companies in construction, healthcare, or other fields where health and safety guides should ideally have supporting photos to prevent mistakes.
You can group content into separate spaces and folders within spaces to ensure everything is organized and easy to find.
I liked that the knowledge base is searchable: Employees can find the information they need with a few keywords.

I also appreciate that you can set access controls for documents, folders, and spaces in the knowledge base to keep confidential information secure.
Finally, you can track article views and view rates (the rate of users with access to something who actually viewed it), which I think is helpful.
Verdict: 8.5/10
Performance and development
iSpring Learn has a 360-degree survey feature that lets you gather feedback on your employees from their peers, managers, and subordinates. The ready survey is distributed automatically, and you can view individual reports, summary reports, and a competency radar to see which key competencies employees are strong in versus where they need support.

I like this because you can assign tailored training courses based on employees’ development areas. Additionally, you can make development plans for learners, including creating checklists, assigning mentors, and tracking development progress.
Unfortunately, this feature wasn’t available on the free trial, so I couldn’t test it firsthand. But I wonder why iSpring Learn doesn’t let you build fully customized surveys (other than 360-feedback surveys) if it already has the technology. An LMS like Connecteam offers a full-featured survey tool, which is very useful.
Verdict: 8/10
Integrations
iSpring Learn offers a solid range of integrations with everything from video conferencing platforms to HR software, CRM systems, e-Commerce platforms, and other LMSs. Popular integrations include Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, BambooHR, Shopify, Salesforce, and LinkedIn Learning.
What’s more, iSpring Learn offers an API, so you can set up custom integrations.
Verdict: 10/10
iSpring Learn Security Features
Here are iSpring Learn’s key security features.
- ISO certified: The platform is certified for both ISO 27001 (information security) and ISO 27701 (privacy information management).
- Security checks: It runs daily security checks, has frequent third-party penetration tests, and conducts regular backups to ensure data and servers are well protected.
- Data encryption: All data in transit and at rest is end-to-end encrypted and protected behind firewalls.
- Custom permission controls: Users are granted access to different levels of learners’ data based on their roles and needs.
Overall, I found iSpring’s security offering was strong. The platform also complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), making it suitable for businesses in Europe.
One thing missing was 2-factor authentication, which I believe is a must-have for security today.
Verdict: 8.5/10
iSpring Learn Reporting & Analytics
Here are the main types of reports available in iSpring Learn.
- Learner progress reports let you view how individual learners or groups are progressing, including which courses they’ve enrolled in, completion statuses, pass and fail rates, and more.
- Course reports show how each course or learning track is performing, including course ratings, enrollment numbers, completion rates, pass and fail rates, and more.
- Quiz reports give you a detailed breakdown of employees’ quiz scores, answers, number of attempts, and average results.
- Training reports show you attendance information, number of events, and durations of sessions for online training, including webinars and other virtual events.
Reports are customizable and exportable and can be scheduled and shared directly with stakeholders via email.

But you can’t view reporting and analytics in real time. Reports must be scheduled or run manually. Further, I’d have liked to see some skills benchmarking options to highlight gaps between required vs. current competencies or complete vs. incomplete training sessions.
Verdict: 7/10
iSpring Learn Customer Support
I was very impressed with iSpring Learn’s customer service.
You can reach the support team by phone, email, a contact form, or live chat.
I used the live chat option both on the website and inside the portal during my free trial. Both times, I chatted with a real human agent who replied almost instantly and helped me with my questions.
The platform also offers live personal demos with sales agents, which you can book easily on the website.
Beyond 1:1 support, iSpring also has a knowledge hub where you can find guides, articles, and webinars for learning how to use the platform at your own pace with step-by-step guidance.
Verdict: 10/10

iSpring Learn App Review
iSpring Learn is a comprehensive LMS with tools for authoring, delivering, and tracking training courses and materials. While I was impressed with the platform’s web design and user experience, I think the mobile app could be better from an admin perspective.
Furthermore, despite good features and excellent customer support, I was let down by the platform’s confusing pricing and limited reporting capabilities. I’d recommend that companies maximize iSpring Learn’s 30-day free trial and product demos before making a decision.
Connecteam: The Better iSpring Learn Alternative
Connecteam is the best all-in-one employee training app for businesses of any size. Its user-friendly design and feature-rich mobile app make learning accessible for everyone, from anywhere.
Let’s dive into Connecteam’s core learning management features.
Learning management system
You can build courses from scratch, use ready-to-go templates, or easily upload SCORM content. The content builder lets you add text, images, videos, audio clips, YouTube links, GIFs, and even PDFs so you can craft powerful and engaging content.
Drag-and-drop tools let you reorder information to improve flow, while built-in quizzes let you check if employees are grasping the information correctly. I also like that you can divide your content into shorter microlearning-style sections so employees can complete their courses in digestible bite-sized chunks.
Once you’ve assigned courses to employees and set due dates, they’re notified and can complete modules from anywhere using their smartphones.
You can track learning progress, view completion rates, see quiz scores, and even export training histories to ensure workers have the skills and knowledge they need to perform. Lastly, unlike iSpring Learn, you can see analytics in real time, making it easier to stay on top of things.
Knowledge base
Connecteam’s searchable company knowledge base lets you store training materials, such as guides, manuals, and other company documents, in a secure and centralized location. You can upload PDFs, videos, images, audio files, and more, plus organize materials in folders using drag-and-drop tools and set different permission controls.

Surveys, events, and so much more at affordable prices
Unlike iSpring Learn, which focuses on only 360-degree surveys, Connecteam’s employee communication surveys let you use a range of ready templates or build any fully customizable survey from scratch.
Moreover, Connecteam also doubles as a company event app, where you can schedule live online and offline workshops.
Besides this, Connecteam offers many other operations, communication, and HR management features, and has a free plan for small businesses, which iSpring Learn doesn’t currently offer.
