About this role:
Join a team building and operating a complex, data‑driven backend in Python that processes data at scale. You'll own significant features and components end‑to‑end - from data model and query through API to UI — and take the lead on the analytical, performance, and data‑quality challenges that come with a system where correctness matters. A role for developers with a few years under their belt who want harder problems, real ownership, and room to grow into a senior engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and ship features and components across a data‑driven Python backend, from database through API to frontend where needed.
- Write, tune, and optimize SQL and data access patterns against large datasets; diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Investigate complex data and system behavior analytically- reproduce issues, isolate root cause, and drive them to resolution.
- Own the quality of the areas you work in: tests, correctness, data integrity, and maintainability.
- Identify technical debt and process inefficiencies, and take the initiative to improve them.
- Contribute strongly in design discussions, code reviews, and planning; help level up teammates and shape technical decisions.
Requirements:
- BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Solid backend engineering experience with hands‑on Python.
- Strong SQL and data skills- confident designing, querying, and optimizing against relational data at scale.
- Proven ability to own features end‑to‑end and deliver in a team.
- Strong team player with clear written and verbal communication.
Advantage (hands‑on):
Python, SQL, relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), REST APIs, React, TypeScript, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, data pipelines/ETL, Elasticsearch, Redis, MongoDB, Grafana, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
